Terminal Island

• Our quay: 3.2 km long – 1 km is utilized for the initial container terminal; 1.6 km for the extension which will initially be used for general cargo
• Draft: 16m deep alongside quay
• Terminal island size: 3.4 square kilometers (off-shore)
• Location: 4 km offshore (the length of the north and south causeways and bridge)
• Dredging took two years at a cost of US$ 1.5 billion; enough material was dredged to fill nearly 20,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools
• First phase is planned for 2.5 million TEU
