The Musaffah Channel gives access to Musaffah Port and wider Musaffah area. The channel has a length of approximately 40 km (roughly 25 nautical miles), extending from the south west corner of the Musaffah Industrial Area to the fairway buoy within port limits.

Pilot Boarding Position: 24° 34’34N 54° 13’94E

The channel has been dredged to a depth of 9 meters below chart datum.

The length of the relocated channel compares with a corresponding length of approximately 30 km (16 nm) for the Old Musaffah Channel, suggesting that the relocated channel might be in the order of 80% longer than the old channel. In practice, however, because the relocated channel terminates in deeper water than the old channel, the increased channel length is not a significant issue.
